At just 21 years old, Kylie Jenner has become one of the most recognized beauty persona’s in the world. She was given her ‘Billionaire’ status in early July 2018 when she graced the cover of Forbes magazine. After her famous Lip Kits were known to be a must-have by all beauty lovers, her net-worth grew to $900 million within less than three years of launching her brand.

Thanks to the power of social media and attributes to her family status, Jenner was able to build a long-term brand from her fame not forgetting her hard work behind the scenes. In an interview with Forbes Magazine she said, “social media is an amazing platform, I have such easy access to my fans and my customers.” The youngest sister of the famous Kardashian family is headstrong in reaching the $1 billion dollar mark. She began selling her famous $29 lip kits online and promoting them on her social media. Jenner had always been known for her luscious lips on Instagram which gained her a lot of attention. She was known as Instagram’s ‘It Girl’ and it was no surprise that everyone wanted her look. This is one of the reasons why her brand has flourished along with her strong online presence in marketing her products.

Before her brand came about, skeptics always criticized Jenner of having lip fillers done which she’d always avoid talking about in interviews. That was until an interview with Teen Vogue came along in 2015. She’d admitted to having lip-injections from feeling insecure about her lips. In an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians she also admits to all the rumors saying, “I have temporary lip fillers, it’s just an insecurity of mine and it’s what I wanted to do. I’m just not ready to talk to reporters about my lips yet, because everyone always picks us apart.” Although, out of that little insecurity, she grew a multi-million dollar brand.

Kylie Jenner’s brand is now one of the biggest high-end makeup brands in the world as she continues to use her social media fame in order to leverage her sales. Not many celebrities are known to pull off selling their products but with the latest trend in social media taking over peoples lives, makeup fanatics growing with the influence of online beauty gurus and millions of people wanting to look like Jenner, she’s used this all to her online advantage in building brand awareness.
